Many people feel that writing thank you notes is a burden, but I find it to be a gift of gratitude and a blessing that make my Blue Brain and Heart smile.
The following article: Scientists Show How Gratitude Literally Alters The Human Heart & Molecular Structure Of The Brain explains the health benefits of demonstrating gratitude.
Below are examples of how each Brain Color demonstrates their gratitude and thankfulness.
Yellow Brainers are thankful and demonstrate gratitude for the security they feel in their lives.
Blue Brainers are thankful and demonstrate gratitude for their loving relationships in their lives.
Green Brainers are thankful and demonstrate gratitude for their problem solving skills they use in their life.
Orange Brainers are thankful and demonstrate gratitude for the freedoms they enjoy in their lives.
Several years ago, my yoga instructor, Errin Hughs, shared a Blue Brain Inspirational anonymous poem entitled, Be Thankful. I asked Erinn to share the poem with me, and I am delighted to share it with you. I have a copy of Be Thankfulon the mirror in our bathroom, where I can view it each morning when I begin my day and in the evening at the end of my day. I am sure many of you can relate to my feelings of metaphorically rollerblading at high speed through the day. This lovely poem is a speed bump that reminds me to slow down and remember to Be Thankful!
I hope you will find Be Thankful as affirming and inspirational as I do.
Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something,
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes;
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.
It only takes a few minutes; consider writing a thank you note to express you gratitude and alter your brain and heart!
