Writing Guild and Workshops
This morning, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators of Illinois (SCBWI)
listserve offered me a GRAND Connection. It was Sheila’s George’s post
about a writer’s organization and workshop. I immediately emailed Sheila for
more information.
I was delighted to learn about the International Women’s Writing Guild and the
Susan Tiberghien’s “A Writing Life / A Creative Life: The Importance of Words”
workshop on April 25th at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago.
Both were the “X” on the treasure map I had been searching for.
I enjoyed our conversation and then completed my new book proposal for my agent.
Afterwards, I logged onto IWWG and joined the organization and signed up for the April 25th workshop.
I felt like both decisions were “Artist’s Day” gifts, which Julia Cameron writes
about in her book, The Artist Way The Artist Way.
I also told Sheila about two of my “writing favorites”: The Writer Magazine and the University of Iowa Summer Writing Festival.
I am most grateful for the information
Sheila posted and generosity of our
SCBWI membership!
