Tolerance Drives Me Crazy!!

It obvious to me that people do not realize what they are saying say or what they are writing when they use the word TOLERANCE!

The definition of TOLERANCE, as it is written in my 1960 Webster’s New College Dictionary, before it became a buzz word is: Endurance, to suffer, to bear up under, or below standard and put up with.

Do you really want others to endurance, suffer, bear up under, put up  you or feel you are below standard ???

In my What Color Is Your Brain? Programs, I do not teach TOLERANCE, I teach APPRECIATION and ACCEPTANCE of others and their perspectives.

Just log onto Google Images and see all the picture for TOLERANCE! The alliteration of “Teach Tolerance” may sound comfortable to the ear and be a snappy marketing spin. However, from my perspective it is painful and disturbing to my Blue Head and Heart!

As a author, who values and respects words, I am asking you to listen to and understand the word you use and what they really mean when you speak or write to them. Our world is spinning a such a fast pace, people do not take the time to listen to or recognize what they are really saying and writing.

Stay tuned, this “cranky old crone, will have more to say about words in future blog posts.

yes, Yes, YES! I oh-so-agree with your thoughts on this. I’d much rather be wholeheartedly accepted than tolerated.
