The Green Brain Writing Monster Has Got Me In His Clutches!

Yikes, tomorrow is March 1st and the Green Brain Writing Monster will be taking over my writing life and my computer! He will not release me from his clutches until I have finished my, “Sh**y First Draft”, which a common expression amongst authors when writing the first draft of a book.

My writing project and goal for the month of March is to complete the manuscript for What Color Is Your Brain? When Caring For Patients: An Easy Approach for Understanding Your Personality Type and Your Patient’s Perspective.

Jessamyn West quote about writing fits my situation perfectly: “Writing is a solitary occupation. Family, friends, and society are the natural enemies of the writer. He must be alone, uninterrupted, and slightly savage if he is to sustain and complete an undertaking.”

Except for one last Author School Visit with Laura Newcomer’s 5th Grade Enrichment Class,  a What Color Is Your Brain? program for the Centers for New Horizons, which is a partner of Illinois Action for Children, writing my March BrainBuzz Newsletter, and possible writing updates, I will be focused on my manuscript.

My Yellow Brain has planned my writing schedule.
My Blue Brain is eager to let my creativity start bubbling.
My Green Brain will keep me focused and this undertaking.
My Orange Brain is excited about getting results!

My Yellow Plan is to: Only check emails and my social media sites and answer my phone and return voice mail message at the end of the day, after I have completed my writing.

My reward for this writing goal will be going to see Princess Shayna’s return to Broadway! The Invisible Visible Gift musical, which is the adaption of Princess Shayna’s Invisible Visible Gift, will be performed on Thursday, April 3rd and Friday, April 4th at the Broadway Theatre in Pitman, New Jersey!

Got to scoot and get ready for the Green Brain Writing Monster’s arrival tomorrow!
