Surprising Facts About How Many Books People Read A Year!

Are you a book lover? I am!
I am a voracious reader who has always lived in a home were books were treasured and enjoyed.

For years, my husband and I have watched or record the CBS Sunday Morning News show. A few weeks ago, the following “How many books a year to you read?” statistics were posted during the show. It was random sampling of adults.

No books: 14%
1 or 2 books: 15%
3-5 books: 24%
6-12 books: 20%

As a person who always takes a book to read in the car, as a passenger, waiting for an appointment, or relaxing before going to sleep at night, I found the statistics surprising. As an author, I found the following statistics disappointing.

Below are examples of the type of books each Brain Color personality enjoys reading:

Yellow Brainers like: History, bestsellers, and religion books

Blue Brainers like: Biography, self-help, and inspirational books

Green Brainers like: Technology, mystery, and crossword puzzle books

Orange Brainers like: Sports, “how to…”,  and adventure books

Use your Green Brain to think about the books you like to read and how many books a year you read!

    Sheila,
It is tragic what technology has done to stunt initiative, curiosity, and thirst for the written word.
Regardless of Brain Color one should indulge in the literary genre.
    Thank You.
