Snowy Day Reading
I am in a lovely snow globe! I am sitting at my desk composing my February BrainBuzz Newsletter, as a delicate curtain of white snow puffs layers the outdoors.
I have always loved snow globes and have a favorite one, my mother gave me, sitting on my desk. Snow globes, also have been known as water globe, snow storms, or “snow domes, and date back to 19th century France.
This day also reminds me of two favorite books:
1. Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, which is a Caldecott Award-winning book picture book. My sons, my 3rd graders and I always loved Peter’s Orange Fun adventure and the Artistically Beautiful Blue illustrations.
2. The Snowflake: Winter’s Secret Beauty by Kenneth Libbrecht and photos by Patricia Rasmussen. I love the Yellow Detailed Information about snowflakes and Fascinating Research and Facts about snowflakes.
It’s time to put the kettle on for a cup and get cozy and comfortable on my chaise lounge chair for some Snow Day Reading.
