Pin a smile on your face, even when you are faced with problems!
My Green Brain has been diligently working on, what we authors call, a “Sh***ty First” draft on my new book, What Color Is Your Brain? When Caring for Patients, and I am almost done!!! I added the anonymous poem below at the end of Chapter #7—Your Connection With Patients.
Today, I realized that I needed the message in the poem. My Green Brain has spent hours upon hour, during the last week, dealing with and solving problems with my computer. I was so frustrated that I wanted to my make my life less complicated with my 1950’s Royal Typewriter, dial phone, and Kodak Brownie Camera from my childhood.
I know it is not always easy to put as smile on our face, when we are faced with problems. However, the poem reminded me how blessed I am! The problems I was faced with were only momentary and not life threatening. My Blue Brain appreciated the simplicity, preciseness, and visualization of the poem’s message. I hope you will too!
A Smile
Keep your smiled pinned on!
It may give another cheer;
It may soothe another’s fear;
It may help another fight,
If your smile’s tight!
Some studies say it takes 37 muscles to frown and only 22 to smile. No matter what the number, think about pinning “A Smile” on your face, even when you are faced with problems. It can make you and others SMILE!
