Motivational Words To Improve Your Business
I enjoyed Daniel Pink’s book, A Whole New Mind: Why Right Brainers Will Rule the Future. Especially, since it focused utilizing all our “Brain Color ” attributes and abilities. It also acknowledged and encouraged the “Blue and Orange Brain Creative Thinkers”.
His new book, Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us, just arrived and I”m looking forward to another educational and insightful reading experience.
The Mr. Pink states, “Most of us believe that the best way to motivate
ourselves and others is with external rewards like money—the
carrot-and-stick approach. That’s a mistake, the secret to high
performance and satisfaction—at work, at school, and at home—is the
deeply human need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new
things, and to do better by ourselves and our world.”
This quote motivated my problem solving “Green Brain“. At our last WIN ( Women In Networking) board meeting the officers made a decision try out a new format for one of our 30 second introductions per month. We wanted to enhance the introduction opportunity to keep our introductions fresh.
Our New format is: Each members states her name, business and then give a BRIEF answer to the helpful/ thought-provoking question for the day.
As V.P of Education, my job is to pose the question. At our general meeting this morning, I asked: Share “one word” which motivates you every day grow your business? Examples: integrity, networking, money.
I began with my “Energetic Orange Brain” that couldn’t keep myself from using more than one word. I offered: Education, Teaching, Learning. Each is significant to me because of of the passion I feel when I am teaching my clients about their Brain Colors and learning new ideas from my clients, books, other individuals and life experiences!
All the other women thoughtfully jumped right in. The member’s comment were surprising, insightful and meaningful. They revealed a stratified perspective about each woman and her business. Below are some of the “Motivating” words:
Creating ~ Impact ~ Results ~ Empower ~ Educate ~Taking Care
Continuing Education ~ Focus Attention ~ Self-Satisfaction
Toyota (do not settle in and become too comfortable as the car manufacturer did)
Nurture ~ Gratifying ~ Connected Build Relationships ~ Dynamics
Passion ~ Character ~ Integrity ~ Relationships
Children ~ Trust ~ Peace of Mind ~ Potential ~ Networking!
What word(s) motivate you in your
business and/or your personal life?
Please, send me a comment and I will add them to the list!
