Mother Nature’s Gift of Change – A Pair of Pears

This morning, I returned from a meeting and was greeted by our lovely chanticleer (pyrus caleryana) pear trees in one of our perennial gardens. Jordan and I planted both trees 4 1/2  years ago. One to celebrate our 40th anniversary and the other to celebrate our granddaughter Yasmin’s birth. In fact, the burlap that was wrapped around the ball of roots of one of the trees was marked with “40”. Of course, that  became “our” tree and the other Yasmin’s.

Gazing at the trees, I thought about the Forest of Friendship in Princess Shayna’s Invisible Visible Gift, where all the different animals, trees, shrubs and flowers thrive, just like our trees. However, I was surprised to see that overnight our “40” tree was gowned in beautiful burnished red leaves, while Yasmin’s tree was still dress in shiny green leaves.

Both trees are basically are the same size, were planted at the same time, and are a beautiful white blossoming duet in the spring. However today, our “pair of pears” reminded me that our Brain Color personalities can live, work and thrive in the same place as another individual, but we each of us are affected differently by changes in our environment.

As avid “Blue Brain Gardner”, I always appreciate the surprise gifts “Mother Nature” offers me!

“If you are aware the gifts are there!”

What a great observation – both pears and brain colors — I’m so glad you shared it. How strange and fun and interesting that both trees are doing “their own thing” even though they’re basically identical. Just like people 🙂
