Ken Follet’s Writing Point Of View

Ken Follett’s Writing POV or Point of View made me stop and think about my writing POV and process. His words could also be applied to developing a project.

“The research is the easiest.
The outline is the most fun.
The first draft is the hardest, because every word of the outline has to be fleshed out.
The rewrite is very satisfying.”

Helpful perspective for any one who writes, no matter what “Color Brain” they have.

The research is the easiest. = Green investigation
The outline is the most fun. = Orange enjoyment
The first draft is the hardest,
because every word of the outline has to be fleshed out. = Yellow organizing

The rewrite is very satisfying.= Blue pleasure
