Jerry the Bear with Diabetes : An Interactive Toy for Children with Type I Diabetes
Last night at our Midwest Writers Association meeting, Sue Baugh who is an skillful Green Brain author and editor, was Blue and Thoughtfully gave me a copy of The Daily Northwestern newspaper. Sue had seen an article she knew I would be interested in and she was correct. On the front page of the Northwestern University daily newspaper was an article about Jerry the Bear, a medical toy made by NU alumni, now on pre-order.
Jerry the bear is an interactive toy that helps children, ages 4 to 9 who live the challenges of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), to learn more about diabetes, diet, exercise, emotions, and become more familiar with diabetes terminology.
Jerry the Bear is available online for delivery this summer. You can learn more the Jerry and his creators, Hannah Chung and Aaron Horowitz, at Jerry the Bear website.
