It’s Not The End Of The Road!

Yesterday, after the What Color Is Your Brain? Team Building Program for staff at the Community Crisis Center in Elgin, Illinois, Ruth, one of the attendees, handed me a short poem that she felt complemented a poem I had used during the program.

I shared my friend Jewel Manzay’s anonymous poem Three Men and adapted it for the women attendees:

Three Women
There were three women,
Went down the road
As down the road went she.
The woman they saw,
The woman she was,
And the woman
She wanted to be.

Below is the poem Ruth gave me:

A Bend In the Road
A bend in the road
Is not the end of the road,
Unless you fail
To make the turn!

Each Brain Color would offer a different salutation, as you would travel life’s road:

The Yellow Brainer would say: “Be safe.”
The Blue Brainer would say, “Take care.”
The Green Brainer would say, “Read the map.”
The Orange Brainer would say, “Have fun!

Both short poems offer us wisdom as we travel the joy, beauty, bumps, curves, inclines, and declines on our road of life!

Both are delightful poems that say a lot in few words!

I enjoyed both poems and resonate with the BLUE and GREEN brain colors: “Take care,” and “Read the map.”

Thank you, Gwen. Yes, a few words can be significantly meaningful!

Laurie, glad you enjoyed the poems. We all need to take care and read the map, some times with the help of others.
