Family Treasures

Today, Jordan and I kept one of our New Year’s resolutions… clean out the storage area in our basement.

The thought of this project  nagged at us, however, once we began to open the boxes we discovered copious family treasures…college love letter, Joshua’s and Noah’s letters from over night camp, family pictures and cherished items that were my mother’s, which we packed up 7 years ago, when she
passed away.

In one of my mother’s personal files, I found a birthday card my cousin, Linda, composed for mother’s 75th birthday. The  “love”ly sentiments resonated in my memory and my heart.

A heart full of love
for family and friends.
Compassion and warmth,
That never seems to end.

From the inside out,
Beauty and grace.
Someone for whom,
My heart holds
A very special place.

Over the years,
Not an abundance
Of visits and talks.
But ,hopefully you know,
That I’ve loved and admired you,
Ever since I could walk.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Sylvia.
From my heart to yours…

I love you,
Linda
