Empty Nesters Again

Yesterday, our “Joyful Chaos” came to a close. Our son, daughter-in-law, 3 year old granddaughter and 10 month old grandson moved into their new home.

My husband, Jordan, and I refer to their return from Brazil and 15 month sojourn with us as a “Once in a life time blessing that will never come again!” We shared an abundance of memorable “first time” experiences with our children and grandchildren!

However, we all were delighted that they were moving into their new home, on many different levels, figuratively and literally. My husband and I  helped out with the children all weekend. Last night, just as were about to collapse into our bed in silence, our phone rang. It was out eldest son, calling to ask us if he could come home tonight, because he has a business meeting in the area tomorrow and didn’t want to drive all the way from his home in morning-rush hour traffic.

Of course we said we would be delighted to have him stay over.

Yesterday morning, Jordan and felt like honeymooners enjoying a lovely breakfast at a B & B. This morning, we laughed about our feelings not lasting too long.

But, we are confident we will be “Empty Nesters” again, soon!
