Ebook Publishing Research & Suggestions

In my February 6th blog post, I wrote about my decision to commit the month of February to writing the Teacher & Parent Activity Guide for Princess Shayn’s Invisible Visible Gift . This supplement/accompaniment to Princess Shayna will be in an Ebook format.

This week, I began my fascinating and frustrating Green “Techie” Brain investigation for Ebook formatting methods, compilers and/or publishing software.

Princess Shayna is a trade publication. However, my goal is to make this Activity Guide an easy electronic download. Most ebooks only have text. However, I need to include graphics for the worksheets, which were developed in Microsoft Publisher, and the beautiful color illustrations from the book. I know I can format those graphics in JPEG files and the text in Microsoft Word files, but I need a SIMPLE method that combines both formats.

I have started a Yellow Brain List that already has 27 website I have researched. Your ideas might be on the list. However,  I would appreciate the pros and cons of a software, compiler and/or formatting method you have used or someone you know who has experience a system with EASE AND SUCCESS!

Please, send your suggestions to me at snglazov@comcast.net with Ebook in the subject line.

I will be delighted to share my results of my “Green Brain Research” once I have found the appropriate tool!

Thank you!

Sheila – Best wishes to you as you move forth in this “fascinating and frustrating green ‘techie’ brain investigation. I wish I had a clue so that I could shed some light on this subject, but this topic is way outside of my knowledge base.

Thanks, Laurie. I spoke with one of my friends, who also has been teaching the Brain Colors and Princess Shayna with her classes for 14 years. Laura is a grand green techie and we think we have come up with a solution. I will let you know, for your future reference after March 6th.
