DASH TO CURE DIABETES
In 1985, when our eldest son, Joshua, was diagnosed with Type I diabetes were told, “There will be a cure in the next five years.” At that time Joshua was 15 years old and on Saturday, July 12th, we will celebrate his 38th birthday. For almost 23 years we have been wanting and working towards a cure for diabetes!
That’s why I think, the name of the fund raising event, which Karl and Nancy Fruecht founded was most
appropriate. DASH TO CURE DIABETES!
Not Walk or Run, but DASH … Sprint … Move as fast as possible … Terminate… Destroy … Finish off hastily… Such A Pernicious Disease!

On May 25th, the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend,
the 9th Annual DASH TO CURE DIABETES was held
in the Citizen’s Park in Barrington, Illinois. In attendance
were 400 Runners, 100 Walkers and 250 Jr Dashers.
This year the DASH raised over $40,000!
“Bravissimo!” and “Thank You!” to all the DASH volunteers, participants, sponsors and, especially,
the Fruecht Family for their vision and commitment to establish a fund raising event to help their daughter, Molly, our son, Joshua, and the other millions of people wanting to…
