Breaking the Golden Rule

Most people, no matter where they live, their culture or religion are familiar some form of the Golden Rule:

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

However, a students who had read Princess Shayna’s Invisible Visible Gift in her fourth grade classroom had another idea about the axiom.

She told me and her teacher, “It is easier get along with others because you understand how they feel more when you know about their Brain Colors. But treating others they way you would want to be treated is not always true, because people don’t always want to be treated the same way you do.”

“They want to be treated like the Brain Color they are!”

Wow, what a brilliant observation! I thanked the student and told her how much I valued her perspective, which was a astute Brain Color lesson about appreciating and respecting different personalities!

Now, go ahead… be an Orange Brainer and break the Golden Rule!
