Authentic Narrative Voices from Health Care Professionals and Experts

My Green Brain has been writing and revising the front material (dedication, acknowledgements, and author introduction) for my new book, What Color Is Your Brain? When Caring for Patients: An Easy Approach for Understanding Your Personality Type and Your Patient’s Perspective.

I am delighted that my publisher is extremely pleased with all the Yellow Brain Details and Green Brain In-Depth Conten Health Care Professionals will be reading after the book is published in the Fall 2014.

Books and other literary works are written using a “narrative voice” that relate the events and tone of the story.
The First-person narration is the “I” narration from a  single character’s perspective.
The Second-person narration is the  “you” narration in which the reader becomes one of the character.
The Third-person narration and the most  flexible and comes from the  “he,” “she” or “it,”  perspective.
The Omniscient voice also is a third-person perspective that is the expert and knows everything about the story.

I asked a diverse group of health care experts to contribute stories to specific chapters in the book. I am honored that each expert was willing to make the time to write his or her contribution(s).

The contributors are:
Occupational health, diabetes educator, hospice, OBGYN, and certified registered infusion nurses.
Physical, occupational, and respiratory therapists.
A CEO of a large city hospital; a senior director of loss control/safety/risk management; an OSHA regional compliance assistance   specialist; and a PhD wellness practitioner.

I sent each individual a copy of the chapter in which he or she would contribute his or her story. Many of the contributors were concerned about their ability to write their story. I encouraged them by saying, “Please do not be concerned about the grammar or writing style. The editors would take care of those details. Just write from your ‘Authentic Voice’.”

My Blue Brain was thrilled when I read each contributor story. Some of the contributors even sent me several “authentic voice” stories. My Blue Brain loved every story that I read and I was able to places the extra stories in other chapters. Each health care professional wrote his or her story with knowledge, care, and compassion, as if they were expertly taking care of a patient. Some of the contributors joyfully said, “I couldn’t stop writing.”, “I was in the flow.”, “The story wrote so easily onto the page.”, and “I am not a writer, but I loved telling my story!”

Because each health care contributor wrote from his or her “Authentic Voice” each story was PERFECTION!

A Life Long Lesson… Write, Speak, and Enjoy Life with Your “Authentic Voice”!
