Happy April Fool’s Day or All Fools’ Day! The origins of this “foolish” day are many and interesting.
“Here cometh April again, and as far as I can see the world hath more fools in it than ever.”
Charles was born in London on February 10, 1775 and I think his quote remains relevant 235 years later.
However, today can also be a fun and exciting day.
This morning my publisher sent me the following email message:
“We are a literary agency specialized in Chinese subsidiary rights.
We have a Chinese publisher that is very interested in follow title: What Color Is Your Brain?: A Fun and Fascinating Approach to Understanding Yourself and Others
Could you please verify if the simplified Chinese rights are still available for this title.”
My reply to my publisher “Is this an April Fool’s Joke?”
The email message was real and I checked out the literary agent on the web and LinkedIn.
No, fool’n, what an exciting opportunity!
