A Love Story of Romance, Roses, and New Years Eve Dates Since 1964!
My Blue Brain was overwhelmed by the responses I received from my November 26th post The Blessing of a “Blind Date” 50 Years Ago on Thanksgiving!
Because we live in a world were people ask each other out on dates and get engaged with a text message, my Blue Brain decided to share the rest of the “old fashion” love story about my blind date 50 years ago, on Thanksgiving evening in 1964.
The day after our grand blind date, Jordan, a Blue Romantic, sent my mother and me a dozen long stem red roses. My mother’s roses included a card thanking her for the hospitality she and the other 25 members of my family offered him, while I was in my bedroom preparing for our date.
My dozen long stem red roses included a card with a Blue Romantic message. It read: “Sheila, How about New Year’s Eve?”
My mother and I were very impressed with Jordan’s Yellow Brain Respectful Manners!
Jordan was very Greenly Purposeful about the roses and the card. The morning after our date he told his mother that he met the girl he was going to marry… “It was love at first sight!”
Jordan continued to give my mother her roses until she passed away 13 years ago.
For the past 50 years, Jordan has continued to give me my dozen long stem red roses and ask me our for New Year’s Eve.
My Orange Brain has loved our fun-filled tradition of Romance and Roses. This year I am looking forward to our 50th New Year’s Eve date!
Now you know the rest of my love story filled with Romance, Roses, and New Years Eve Dates since 1964!
P.S. This year Jordan’s “Love”ly Blue Brain gave me a dozen roses and another dozen in memory of my mother.

Great Post
Thanks, Jeff. 🙂
What a lovely story! My parents met on a blind date on New Year’s Eve about 53 years ago. They’ve been married for 52! Loved your story!
Wendy =)
Dear Wendy,
Sorry, for the delayed response. I had not looked at my comments in months.
I do not know why I ignored people’s comments. My “Yellow Brain Mother” would be very
upset with my rudeness. Yikes.
Thank you for your kind words. From your parents’ experience and ours, it seems that
Blind Dates can work our beautifully! I also love our story. 🙂
