Sheila's latest book, What Color Is Your Brain?^®, is an enjoyable and compelling guide to how a person's Brain Colors affect human behavior and interpersonal dynamics. First published in 1997, Princess Shayna's Invisible Visible Gift takes the original core concepts of self-esteem and self-discovery later explored in What Color Is Your Brain?^®, and spins it into a children's fairy tale. As a long-standing advocate for diabetes research and education, Sheila donates a percentage of her book royalties to help champion that cause.

Over three decades of significant professional development opportunities—combined with astute observations of human behavior—enabled Sheila to develop the What Color is Your Brain?^TM Workshop. Her innovative style has won praise from business executives, educators, community leaders, parents, students and the media in the U.S., Canada, Europe and South America.

Educator

In addition to teaching 3rd grade and High School ESL (English as a Second Language), Sheila has been an adjunct faculty member of William Rainey Harper College and a guest instructor at DePaul, Penn State, Northwood, and Roosevelt Universities.

Today's Chicago Woman newspaper selected her as one of "100 Women Making A Difference" for her entrepreneurial achievements in the field of creativity. Women In Management awarded her a "Women of Achievement Award" in Academia and Entrepreneur-Service. She was also named one of "The 10 Most Interesting People of 1998" in the Chicagoland area by Pioneer Press Publications. In 2000, Sheila was Mistress of Ceremonies for The Governor's Commission on the Status of Women in Illinois' annual "Take Our Daughter to Work Day: Encouraging Dreams for a Lifetime," and read excerpts from Princess Shayna's Invisible Visible Gift at the Children's Tent during the Million Mom March in Washington, DC.

Educational Background

Sheila earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Ohio State University, as well as a degree in Creative Leadership from Disney University. She is also a graduate of the Iowa Summer Writer's Festival, the Creative Problem Solving Institute and the McNellis Creative Planning Institute.

Professional Memberships and Organizations

Sheila has been a member of the National Speakers Association, National Speakers Association of Illinois, The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Governor's Commission on the Status of Women in Illinois, Women In Management, American Association of University Women, National Association for Self-Esteem, and a board member of many community organizations.

Sheila and her husband live in the Chicagoland area. Their two sons and daughters-in-law are the parents of their two "delicious" grandchildren.
